My return

Well, after a rather long hiatus I decided to return back to WoW. About 4 months ago I decided I had done everything I wanted to do in Age of Conan and shut down my Hyborian Rage blog. The game was as always an epic vista of beautifully rendered landscapes and epic battles. But, there just wasn't enough player base left to enjoy the game the way I used to. Furthermore, the community had become highly toxic. The final straw was that I ran a raiding guild there that due to interpersonal conflicts split and died. It was a good run, but I finally closed the gates to my Keep and retired my characters. I had become tired of waiting for game fixes and updated crafting systems so it was time to pack my saddlebags and allow my little town to live or die on its own. No regrets, just time to move on as many do in the MMO community.

Jump forward to now. My wife and I decided to revive a bank guild of ours and just make it our own little place. We don't have members, we don't have serious goals, just playing for fun. It's actually a lot more fun this way for us. We still interact with folks that we choose as friends, but we stopped dealing with the stress of guild management and social drama. Now we pick and choose what we want to do. No burn out, just having fun in a solo/couple guild.

So re rerolled most of our toons and started from scratch. Well, more or less scratch. We had some BoA gear and a small lv 1 guild with a couple of bank  tabs. Since starting over, our little project has gained us an additional 2 bank tabs and guild lv 5. Doesn't sound like much but then we don't play it as hard as we used to. The first couple of months back we didn't even work that guild. Most times I guild hopped on Emerald Dream trying to find that right magic or place. I met a lot of fun folks both Horde and Alliance. Many were very helpful and sociable. I just didn't get the same feeling per se. A couple of guilds wanted to power level me and get me up to their end game but it wasn't really in my nature to do so. So I drifted a bit and finally settled down with my wife to just run what tso people could do together.

To date, it's actually been pretty fun. On the pvp side, we both made prot warriors and rofl'ed at the nerd rage of being double shield slammed. I know a lot of folks hate this but to be honest, eventually it will get nerfed and some other class will be flavor of the month. In the meantime, we just have fun with it and she has been having a blast there when we work side by side.

So there it is. I have returned as the bedraggled stranger into Azeroth where very few remember who I am or what I have done in the past. I plan on writing more here again and hope perhaps a few will read up and comment. I suppose we shall see. But anyways, the doors to The Rusty Blade have been re opened and the bar is restocked. Hail to the old veterans, and cheers to the new folk!

Indecision is a Bitch

Lately I been experimenting with several alts trying to build professions and experience different classes back and forth. This has slowed the progress of Grimnhak to a grinding halt. He hit 80, started questing in Hyjal and....well I keep switching around. The current guild I belong to has humored me though occasionally I recieve a ribbing here and there as I never seem to settle. Summer is here so its not a big deal since the guild has gone pretty silent for the time being while everyone is out enjoying the sunshine and doing stuff. My wife and I work together on different alt combos but we never seem to settle on one team. She has gotten into BGs now with her rogue and is enjoying it. I've quieted down my BG activity in favor of running around doing other stuff.

But where is it leading to? I'm not sure at the moment. I want to keep progressing with Grim but sometimes even that is a chore. Not that the quests are hard, most are super easy with a hunter. But then what happens when he reaches 85? Do I dare to get into the raiding business? I'm not sure. The reason is that I can't commit to a particular schedule with my work. Matter of fact, because of being out of town on the job for a 3 month stint, I won't be playing WoW at all. I think this has had a direct effect on my focus to get Grim finally complete. It also has me chasing my tail as to what to play on any given day. I like working at toons. I hate seeing my time grow short though. So...I am at a crossroads to to speak. Ehh well, friday is here and tonight after I finish up with work I'll log on and beat down some XP, though with whom I dont know yet. Guess we will see when it happens. Happy weekend everyone, I'll catch ya after a bit!

Moving/Playing/Classes

Ok I havent written in awhile. Between packing a hgue house, getting my fix of actual playtime and taking some online classes I've been swamped. We actually move around June 1st, but things are ehh busy. I've been focusing mostly on my horde toons. Found a bunch of good natured folk on Emerald Dream that are very couple friendly and been doing a ton of Battlgrounds. I wish I had something huge to say but I don't. I hope everyone is still having a lot of fun out thre and when things settle more I can concentrate more on my writing and thoughts. Take care all and thanks for dropping by!

Day #11 - Bad Habits and Flaws from 20 days of blogging

No one on earth wants to admit they have flaws for the world to see. It hurts thier reputation, character, and thier own self esteem. Well, almost no one. So today I will tell you all about a few of my flaws...well maybe quite a few heh heh heh. See, I'm human. Humans have bad habits and flaws. But then again, I say deal with it, you like me or you don't. I get by either way. So here goes:

- I can be an arrogant prick when I'm being stubborn. That's right, I'm right and if you disagree, your wrong. Period. Well, at least untill I've digested what you have to say for a few days after an impassioned arguement. Ask my wife.

- I'm an altiholic. No, I mean to the point that I will fire a toon I've been working on for a month (delete) without so much as a breath of thought if I want to try something new. It also takes me forever to level a main because I'm working on different objectives constantly. My wife gets infuriated when I server hop to play my horde toons or pvp toons on pvp servers.

- I sometimes get piss friggen drunk during an instance and take stupid chances...or conversely, I've been known to faceplant into my keyboard with drool and passout till about 4 hours later asking...what happened?

- I start projects that if I don't see pretty quick results...I start different projects. Ergo the above altiholism.

- I can be such a procrastinator in my daily life.

Well folks, I bared my ass off to you all for a day. You got to see my not so pretty side lol. Have a great day!
